The arts are not only creative disciplines with rich histories but also powerful tools for learning. Arts education helps students—from children to youth—develop critical 21st-century skills like creative thinking, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. It fosters appreciation for the world, builds a positive work ethic, and nurtures craftsmanship, goal-setting, and high-quality performance—skills essential both in school and in life. Arts education also plays a vital role in bridging socio-economic gaps in learning. Art is deeply connected to our society, influencing everything from clothing and buildings to films and furniture. There are 64 recognized art forms, with 7 classified under Lalit Kala and others as handicrafts. Drawing and painting are especially vital, forming the base for many industries. Recognizing the importance of arts education, Mr. P.A. Inamdar, President of M.C.E. Society, founded M.C.E. Society’s School of Art. His vision is to merge art with technology, creating a platform for young artists to thrive. Established on 1st July 2008 at Azam Campus, Pune, the college is recognized by the Directorate of Art, Maharashtra State, and affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.
